About me: I loved art in school, I drew so much way back. I had so many projects that I gained such satisfaction from. I had my art in shows in high school but one of my best pieces got stolen during one of those shows. After college I got away from painting and into woodworking a bit. I carved many many plaques with verses and pictures on them..I used to sign those plaques VEP. I do sign all artwork with my full signature now and in the last couple of years I put the date finished on them. I painted very little during the 80's and 90's and when I did it was just to play with my kids with their watercolors. I tore up all of my work. I always watched all the painting shows for some reason on PBS during this time, sometimes wanting to pick up the brush again.

In 1998 during a divorce I had a dream about painting again, I felt such peace from that dream, which I needed at the time, so much. I do believe that GOD gave me that dream because of the turmoil that was going on in my life during that time. I went out and got some watercolor paper and paints and brushes that week. I practiced my brush strokes again and started painting on canvas a couple of years later after much practice on those papers. I also learned to hold and keep a brush steady from painting houses for years as a general contractor, if you spilled paint on $30 a square yard carpet, you could kill yourself afterwards...so that helped me gain valuable brush holding experience. Cutting in a straight line isn't as easy as it looks...I now value that experience greatly and attribute it to the canvas also...

I like the masters and how light/color was transferred to canvas. I study their works often, call my style Fauvist, Impressionist, Expressionist, I just paint what I feel like painting. I learned alot of techniques from books by other well renowed American artists. I also love Van Gogh's brush strokes in certain pieces. I have learned to also appreciate Picasso and the composition of his artwork and see that during certain times in his life he changed his style completely.

I sometimes use photos to start a project, or just what is in my head and let it develop on canvas. I am so amazed at how a painting takes shape from the starting to the finishing...it totally makes me realize that this painting came from above and He used my hands to do it..So I do thank GOD for this gift because it is from Him...

....I also do photo art.

I also cherish fatherhood and love spending time with my 3 kids...Can you guess which paintings are about my children? Seeing my first child Alissa for the first time was one of the greatest experiences of my life..My youngest son Jacob has the artistic gift and the desire and might be the next American Master, you never know what GOD will do in a persons life.

MY Artwork colors are best appreciated in person.

All of my artwork comes with a signed certificate of authenticity, and all artwork has a fail safe mark on the back of each piece so your investment will always be protected.

AlSO MY artwork is also better appreciated at a distance from approximately six feet...so you can get a feel of what I am trying to relate. I paint and examine from up close and from a distance to get it exactly the way I feel it should be. I rest my eyes and try to paint with freshness at all times and this makes for a lengthy painting process. I also use alot of paint for the proper texture because I want everyone to be able to tell that the originals are not prints or painted with a computer. I do use the paint brush like a chisel at times and feel like there is really no boudries to a canvas ..I also have light effects on certain night scenes that can only be seen in dim light situations and this adds to the enjoyment in low light situations...I love experimenting with new styles/techniques/ and situations in art and painting...................GOD bless you!!!!!!!!!!!

Going Green section:

You clothed me with beautiful clothing but I was starving, nice clothing means nothing to me when I am hungry...Quote

Remember to do what is right in GOD's eyes not your own...

GOD sent his son (Jesus) in the form of man to die for "our" sins. Turn from sin, ask (called prayer)Him to come help your life, trust in Him to do it and you will be saved...see its that simple...do it today...k...a free, undeserved gift only because He loves you...and me...you will be forgiven...His name is called Emmanuel, which means GOD is with us.

Remember: He (Jesus) is the Way, the truth and the life and no one gets to GOD but through Him...not Budda, Mohammed or any other.
May you grow by this green section....GOD bless you.
